In Cameroon, girls face compounding barriers — early marriage, limited access to education, cultural norms that silence their voices, and a lack of visible role models. These are not individual failures. They are systemic gaps that require deliberate intervention.
Weekend with Girls creates the conditions for girls to discover their own strength — in a space designed specifically for them, facilitated by women who have walked similar paths.
Who We Serve
- Girls aged 13–22 in Yaoundé and surrounding areas
- Girls from low-income and crisis-affected households
- Out-of-school girls and early school leavers
- Girls with limited access to mentorship and role models
What the Programme Delivers
Each Weekend with Girls cohort runs across four weekend sessions — structured, safe, and designed to build on each other as participants grow in confidence and capability.
Leadership Workshops
Structured weekend sessions that build confidence, public speaking, decision-making, and civic awareness — equipping girls with the leadership tools they need to shape their communities and futures.
Mentorship from Women Leaders
Pairing participants with accomplished women professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders who share their journeys, offer guidance, and model what is possible for the next generation.
Health, Wellbeing & Rights Education
Safe, facilitated conversations on reproductive health, personal safety, mental wellbeing, and girls' rights — giving participants the knowledge and language to advocate for themselves.
Entrepreneurship & Vocational Pathways
Practical introductions to business, digital skills, and vocational trades — opening economic pathways for girls who may not have access to formal employment or higher education.
