The Four Principles of Accessibility
Our accessibility work is guided by the four WCAG principles. Here is how we apply each one to this website.
Perceivable
All non-text content has text alternatives. Captions and audio descriptions are provided for multimedia. Content can be presented in different ways without losing meaning. Colour is not the only means of conveying information.
Operable
All functionality is available via keyboard. Users have sufficient time to read and use content. Content does not cause seizures or physical reactions. Navigation aids help users find content and determine their location.
Understandable
Text is readable and understandable. Content appears and operates in predictable ways. Users are helped to avoid and correct mistakes through clear labels and error messages.
Robust
Content is compatible with current and future user tools, including assistive technologies such as screen readers, magnifiers, and voice control software.

Known Issues
We are transparent about areas where we are still working to improve. The following known issues are being actively addressed.
Legacy embedded video content
In progressSome third-party video embeds may not have full caption support. We are working with content providers to resolve this.
PDF documents
PlannedOlder PDF publications may not be fully accessible. We are progressively replacing these with accessible HTML alternatives.
Complex data tables
PlannedSome programme data tables are being reviewed for screen reader compatibility and will be updated in the next content cycle.
